Before starting their learning journey, each student can complete a friendly, level-appropriate assessment based on the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). This allows us to identify their current language level — from Pre-A1 to C2 — and recommend the most suitable Edunion course. Assessments are tailored by age group and include a mix of listening, speaking, reading, and writing tasks. Our goal is to ensure each student is placed in a course that matches their abilities and supports their language growth from the very first lesson.

Study Peas Student Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern the use of educational services provided by Study Peas, a trading name of Edunion, to students and/or their legal guardians. By enrolling in a Study Peas course or booking a class, you agree to the following terms:

  1. Enrolment and Payment
    1.1. All classes must be booked and paid for in advance through the official Study Peas platform.
    1.2. Payment confirms your place and is non-transferable to another student.
    1.3. Prices are listed in your local currency or in GBP unless stated otherwise and may be subject to change with prior notice.
  1. Trial Classes
    2.1. Each student may book one trial class per course offering.
    2.2. Trial classes are non-refundable but may be rescheduled if notice is given at least 24 hours in advance.
  1. Scheduling and Attendance
    3.1. Students are responsible for attending scheduled lessons on time. If a student is more than 10 minutes late without prior notice, the teacher may mark the class as a no-show, and the class will be forfeited.
    3.2. Cancellations must be made with at least 24 hours’ notice. Classes cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged in full.
    3.3. In the event of a student no-show (failure to attend without notice), the class is considered forfeited and is non-refundable.
    3.4. If a teacher is more than 10 minutes late, the class will be rescheduled at no additional cost. If a teacher fails to attend the class without prior notice, the student will be offered either a replacement teacher or a full refund for the missed session.
  1. Postponements
    4.1 If a student or teacher is unable to take class at the scheduled time they are required to postpone the class through the StudyPeas online platform. This must be done with at least 24 hours’ notice.
    4.2 Postponed classes will automatically grant the student 1 free credit lesson to use at their convenience to book in a new class.
    4.3 Students may only postpone a maximum of three (3) times within a three-month period or six (6) times within a six-month period. Excessive postponements beyond this limit may result in review of enrolment status or restrictions on further scheduling flexibility.
    4.4. If a student wishes to change teachers, they may do so by cancelling any future scheduled lessons and rebooking with a new teacher via the Study Peas platform. Standard cancellation and postponement policies apply.
  1. Class Recordings and Supervision
    5.1. All online classes may be recorded for safeguarding and quality assurance.
    5.2. For students under the age of 18, a parent or guardian must be present in the room or within earshot throughout the duration of the class.
    5.3. Students must not share class links or recordings with others without written permission from Study Peas.
  1. Code of Conduct
    6.1. Students are expected to behave respectfully and appropriately at all times.
    6.2. Study Peas reserves the right to suspend or terminate classes for any student who is disruptive, disrespectful, or violates our policies.
  1. Technology Requirements
    7.1. Students must ensure they have a stable internet connection and a suitable device for attending classes.
    7.2. Study Peas is not responsible for technical issues on the student’s side that prevent participation.
  1. Course Materials and Intellectual Property
    8.1. All course materials are the property of Study Peas (Edunion) or its licensed partners.
    8.2. Students may use provided materials for personal, educational purposes only and must not redistribute, copy, or resell them.
  1. Refunds and Cancellations
    9.1. Refunds will only be granted in exceptional circumstances and are subject to management approval.
    9.2. Refunds are not given for missed classes without valid notice as stated in section 3
  1. Privacy and Safeguarding
    10.1. Study Peas complies with GDPR and relevant child protection laws.
    10.2. Personal data and recorded lessons are handled securely and only accessed by authorised staff.
  1. Changes to Terms
    11.1. Study Peas reserves the right to update these terms at any time.
    11.2. Continued use of Study Peas services constitutes acceptance of any revised terms.
